Veldhof, Audrey 12/11/1944 - 6/3/2019 Zeeland On June 3, 2019, Audrey Veldhof joined her Savior in heaven surrounded by her loving family. Audrey was born on December 11, 1944. She was a beloved mother, wife, friend, and mentor to many. She graduated from Calvin College and later got a Master's Degree at the University of Michigan. She lived in Zeeland and taught high school PE and English at various schools around the country. On two separate occasions, Audrey founded a girls high school athletics program where none previously existed. She coached several girls athletic teams. She loved teaching in the Christian Learning Center program at Zeeland Christian School. Audrey blessed countless lives with her active involvement at Bethel Church, not only as a member, but also serving as the Kids Hope director for 21 years. She also envisioned and spearheaded the building of the Carlton Street Playground. Audrey loved landscaping at her home and spending time with all of her family and her grandchildren. She hosted Sunday dinners and weekly "bagel days" with her grandkids. She loved the outdoors and celebrated Mother and Father's Day by going on family hikes and bike rides. Audrey loved to travel and visited nearly every National Park in the US with her family along with cruising around the world with her friends and family. She gave of her time selflessly. Audrey was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 42 years Lloyd in 2015 and her parents Herman and Ethel Baker. She is survived by her four children: Gwen and Robert Brandt, Lindsay and Josh Shults, Erin and Randy Elenbaas, and David Veldhof; her seven grandchildren: Evelyn, Samantha, Chase, William, Jack, Layla, and Wesley; she is also survived by her brother Burt Baker; her brothers and sisters-in-law: Roger and Carol Veldhof, Fran and Mike Therber and Jan Veldhof. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, June 15, 2019 at Bethel Christian Reformed Church, 515 East Main Street, Zeeland. Pastor Dan Kinnas will officiate. A time of visitation and light refreshment will follow the service, concluding at 1 p.m. Memorial contributions may be given to Hospice of Holland. www.yntemafh.com Yntema Funeral Home
